Daniel Boone Area School District received more than $14.4 million in state funding in school year 2009-10. Daniel Boone Area School District operates Daniel Boone High School (9-12), Daniel Boone Middle School (6-8), Amity Elementary Center (K-5), Birdsboro Elementary Center (3-5) and Monocacy Elementary Center (K-2). In 2009, 100% of the kindergarteners in Daniel Boone Area School District attended full-day kindergarten. The Business Manager is responsible for budget and financial operations. Neither of these officials are voting members of the School Board. The Commonwealth Foundation for Public Policy Alternatives Sunshine Review gave the school board and district administration a "D-" for transparency based on a review of "What information can people find on their school district's website".
